You have been able to search Microsoft Learn during an associate or expert level exam for a couple of years now as explained on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/support/exam-duration-exam-experience#accessing-microsoft-learn-during-your-certification-exam
I thought I would share my approach to using Learn in the exam.
First, I open up the Learn window once at the beginning of the exam and drag and shrink it until I need it. Then I expand and search when I want to use Learn and then shrink it again. Do not close and reopen it as people report that reopening Learn has led to the exam crashing.
To use Microsoft Learn effectively, you need to be familiar with how the Docs are organized and structured for the product(s) covered by your exam e.g, for Power Platform there are separate docs for the Power Platform products, Dataverse, ALM, Guidance etc. Within each Doc understand how they are structured e.g., for Power Apps, they have separate sections for Canvas apps and Model-driven apps and within that the UI design is broken down. You need this so you can quickly navigate to the relevant documentation. Remember, you do not get extra time for the exam and using Learn can be a time sink.
In the exam, I search in the Learn pane and then expand and use the filter to select the product. The search in Learn is not great so you need to practice to find which queries provide you with the best results.
Now I discovered that in some exams, Learn was very helpful whereas in other exams, such as AZ-400, it returned too many results and I found that I almost ran out time because I spent too much time hunting through the pages for the information I was looking for.
PS. Ctrl-F is now available to help you search within a Learn article which is invaluable for the longer articles.
