Permanently Remove The Form Fill Toolbar From Customer Insights Journeys

This post focuses on the Marketing App (Customer Insights – Journeys) but is the same for any of the model-driven apps really. It’s a quick post and written out of my own annoyance of seeing it every time I go to test something or get ready to write a new blog article. It’s the ‘helpful’ form fill toolbar assistant. It’s great in some scenarios, but not so much for people in marketing creating emails and journeys and having it take up valuable space at the top of the screen. Also really annoying when you are doing training and people think it’s part of the functionality for marketing. So let’s see how to get rid of it once and for all.

First, this can be really useful. Check out this post from my friend Jeroen Scheper who takes a look at a great use case for the functionality. You might also think that you turned this feature of previously (again, another post from Jeroen where he showed how to turn off form fill assistance), but the switches have changed. But what are we talking about? Well, it’s this thing which just doesn’t have a place when creating marketing assets or content.

You can find more information on turning features on and off in model-driven apps in one of my other posts here, but just a quick reminder. You can go to any model-driven app and then to the Settings area for that app.

From there, you need to find this setting and set it to off. Remember, this is something we are turning off at the app level. There are also switches at the environment level which will turn it off for all of your apps if you wanted to.

Once that’s done and you’ve published the app, no more annoying toolbar at the top that makes zero sense in the marketing app. You’re welcome!
