Finding M365 Tenant ID in Power Platform without Admin Rights

Whether you are a Power Platform Admin, Developer, standard User, Data Analyst, Consultant, or Integrator, you will eventually need to find the tenant ID. The term “tenant ID” can seem daunting, leading many to ask an IT Admin, check the Azure Portal, or use the M365 admin center. In this blog, I will share two simple ways to easily obtain the tenant ID using the standard applications we use daily as a Power Platform User, without needing admin rights or code.

1. Power Apps Maker Portal

  • Navigate to https://make.powerapps.com
  • Open Settings -> Session Details
  • From the session details dialog box, we will find the Tenant ID.

2. Microsoft Teams

  • Open Microsoft Teams
  • Go to Teams, right click on any teams and click on Get link to team.
  • At the end of the link, we will find tenantId.

As a Power Platform user, these are the only two ways to avoid access or privilege issues when getting the tenant ID.
Please share in the comments below if you know other approaches. Thank you, and see you in the next blog.
