Pete MurrayDynamics 365Dyn365CE7 hours ago44 Views

In this release, Dynamics 365 Field Service and Power Apps transform into a performance-driven mobile toolkit designed to keep you in the flow of your work.

Frontline workers will benefit from a significantly faster mobile app with intuitive controls for capturing rich media notes and updating job statuses with fewer taps.

Meanwhile, dispatchers gain the power of AI-driven scheduling to automatically optimise complex resource plans, all within a modernised, streamlined interface that makes finding the right data faster and easier

Improvements to Dynamics Field Service coming in Spring 2026

Add text, images, and videos directly to your timeline

This change will improve your ability to document work in the field by allowing you to capture rich notes without leaving your current screen. You can use a new mobile-specific control to upload photos and videos directly to a record’s timeline, which improves the quality of your follow-ups and ensures service continuity. This feature reduces the need for constant context switching, helping you stay in the flow of your work while on-site.
General Availability: May 2026

Let AI optimize your resource schedule

This improvement will help you manage complex scheduling by using an AI agent to handle the heavy lifting. The Scheduling Operations Agent can now optimize up to five resources directly from your schedule board and trigger ad-hoc plans for up to 30 resources. This allows for faster and more accurate scheduling in dynamic environments where technician availability and service demands shift quickly.
General Availability: March 2027, but previewed in June 2026

Link your field work directly to project tasks

This update will improve your operational visibility by anchoring field work orders to specific project phases. By linking a work order to a project task, your planned start and end dates are automatically synced, and your time entries are reflected directly in the project’s financials. This ensures that your client commitments are met while maintaining full transparency for back-office teams.
General Availability: July 2026

Faster form loading on Android devices

This change will improve your daily productivity by making the mobile app much more responsive. Forms on Android devices will now load at least 25% faster, reducing your idle time and allowing you to start work sooner. This optimization is especially helpful if you often work in areas with low connectivity, as it keeps you in the flow of your tasks with less frustration.
General Availability: April 2026

Easier status updates with mobile-friendly buttons

This improvement will help you avoid accidental taps and streamline how you update your work status. The new Booking Status control features larger touch targets and a “drawer-style” selector designed specifically for small mobile screens. This makes it faster and more intuitive for you to mark a job as “In Progress” or “Completed” while on the move.
General Availability: April 2026

Find information faster with simplified search fields

This update will speed up your mobile tasks by replacing standard, cluttered lists with a streamlined search control. This “Simple Lookup” feature decreases the number of clicks needed to find a record and reduces the amount of visual information you have to process on your phone. It helps you complete data entry faster in the field by showing only what is relevant to your current search.
General Availability: May 2026

Move or reassign multiple bookings at once

This change will improve your flexibility as a dispatcher or service manager by allowing you to adjust entire schedules in a single action. You can shift a group of bookings forward or backward by a set amount of time (such as a day or a week) or reassign multiple tasks to a different person with one click. This saves you from repetitive manual edits when plans change due to weather or customer reschedules.
General Availability: April 2026

See the big picture with a full-screen schedule board map

This improvement will help you make better spatial planning decisions by removing visual clutter. You can now expand the schedule board map to fill your entire workspace, giving you more room to analyze resource locations and identify coverage gaps. This larger view is particularly useful when you need to optimize routes or manage proximity-based scheduling.
General Availability: April 2026

View week numbers on your schedule board

This update will improve your coordination with other teams by allowing you to view and plan work using week numbers. If your organization uses weekly cycles for forecasting or scheduling, you can now see these numbers directly in your date pickers and view headings. This aligns your workspace with established business calendars and makes long-term planning conversations much clearer.
General Availability: April 2026

Easily adjust schedules by canceling specific booking days

This change will improve your scheduling accuracy by giving you precise control over long-running or multi-day bookings. Instead of canceling an entire job to address a minor delay or shift in scope, you can now cancel only the specific portion that no longer applies (such as a single week or a specific day). This preserves accurate history and ensures your schedule stays aligned with real-world changes without unnecessary rework.
General Availability: April 2026

Quickly staff projects by booking multiple specialists

This update will improve your staffing speed by allowing you to select and book multiple specialists directly from the schedule board in one action. Instead of assigning team members one by one, you can review assignment details in a single pane and confirm all bookings at once. This significantly reduces manual effort and ensures the right expertise is aligned to your projects from day one.
General Availability: March 2027

Reduce accidental navigation by turning off lookup links

This improvement will help you stay focused on your current task by removing clickable links from lookup fields on your forms. By turning these links into plain text, you reduce the risk of accidental taps that trigger unwanted navigation to other records. This lowers cognitive load and streamlines your workflow, especially when using the app on a mobile device.
General Availability: May 2026

Find records faster with “Contains” and fuzzy search

This change will improve your ability to find customers and records by replacing old search methods with a smarter, faster system. You can now find data by typing any meaningful part of a name, not just the beginning and the system will even account for minor typos. Your search results will also highlight the matching text, so you can confirm you’ve found the right record at a glance.
General Availability: April 2026

A cleaner, more consistent look for your apps

This improvement will help you work more intuitively by making the modern, refreshed interface the permanent default for your apps. You will benefit from a consistent and accessible user experience that aligns with other Microsoft 365 tools you use every day. This change also streamlines your navigation and ensures that future visual updates are applied reliably across your environment.
General Availability: April 2026

Streamline data entry with smart paste

This update will save you significant time by using AI to analyze text you copy to your clipboard. When you use a simple keyboard shortcut to paste into a form, the system identifies key details like names and phone numbers and automatically suggests which fields they should fill. This reduces the need for manual typing and allows you to finish your data entry tasks much faster.
General Availability: April 2026

Get a quick summary of a record without opening it

This change will improve your efficiency by showing AI-generated summaries directly in your lists and grids. You can see the most important details and context for your tasks and records at a glance, allowing you to prioritize your next moves without needing to open every individual form. This helps you scan large volumes of information and act on them more quickly.
General Availability: April 2026

Instantly see the latest data on your mobile app

This improvement will help your productivity when working away from your desk by allowing you to switch your mobile app into “online mode”. This allows you to access and update the latest Dataverse information in real-time without waiting for background syncs, ensuring you always have the most current data for your customer meetings.
General Availability: May 2026

More room for your data with a streamlined header

This update will improve your visibility by shrinking the size of the app header and navigation sitemap, giving you more space for your actual work data. By condensing these non-scrolling elements and headers, the system maximizes the amount of information you can see on your forms and lists at once, reducing the need for constant scrolling.
General Availability: June 2026

Faster, more reliable offline data syncing

This change will improve your offline experience by using optimized filters to speed up how data syncs to your device. By using more precise queries, the system reduces the amount of data transferred and helps avoid timeouts on large datasets. This ensures that your mobile tools remain responsive and loaded with the necessary information, even when you lose connectivity in the field.
