The Field Service product team has been absolutely cooking of late, with a host of new PCF (PowerApps Component Framework) controls that significantly enhance the mobile experience for users. These updates are set to bring more efficiency and effectiveness to field service operations, enabling teams to manage their tasks and workflows seamlessly.

We’ll take a comprehensive look through the Release Wave 1 notes to summarize the exciting new features and controls that are coming very soon to Field Service. These updates are designed not only to improve the usability of mobile applications but also to empower schedulers to work the way they do.

And best of all, we won’t have to wait very long for these exciting enhancements to arrive. With most of the new controls going straight to General Availability (GA) in April 2026, users can look forward to the upgrade in a matter of weeks.

New Simple Lookup Control for Mobile

Simple Lookup Control – Expected to GA in April 2026

Let’s firstly look at the new Simple Lookup Power Apps Component Framework (PCF) control. It has been streamlined for the mobile experience, and it appears as though you still have the flexibility of lookup views (i.e. Title and subtext, along with the add new record button) but it looks and feels more like a choice control in usages. The Search pane is still present which has been integrated nicely into the Simple Lookup pane.

New ‘Mobile Notes’ Control for Mobile

Another new PCF control, is Mobile Notes. This enables a mobile first experience, with a compact pop out note control that supports text, images and videos.

This adds records to the timeline rather than a specific notes field, so in essence it’s a cleaner timeline add button.

New ‘Booking Status’ Control

Booking Status Control – April 2026 GA

Another PCF control that is being introduced is the new Booking Status control.

Probably the most heavily used control for Mobile Field Service, this control provides a more prominence to statuses with a large button for selection and a bottom opening drawer to allow easy selection of values that include icons.

This control replaces the current Booking Status control automatically for organisations already using it no admin action required.

Disable Clickthrough on Lookup Fields

Disable Click-through Lookup Option – April 2026 GA

Even the native Lookup Control gets an enhancement, to disable clickthrough.

This prevents users unintentionally navigating into records. The best news is this works on both web and mobile views.

Improved Android Performance of > 25%

The latest Unified Interface (UCI) version 9.2.25122.00162 and above, introduces several improvements to form loading times on Android Devices.

This is completely backwards combability and does not affect existing forms.

New Scheduling Operations Agent Capabilities

Bulk Schedule and Assign – Public Preview June 2026

The schedule board is also receiving a number of upgrades.

If you use the Scheduling Operations Agent it now provides bulk operations such as the ability to optimise schedules for up to 5 resources, or use an optimisation plan to optimise schedules for up to 30 resources.

Show Week Numbers of Schedule Board

Week Numbers on Schedule Board – April 2026 GA

A very practical and useful enhancement to the Schedule Board includes the ability to show Week Numbers.

This helps planners who to communicate in week cycles (i.e. Week 6, 7, 8, 9).

Useful in scenarios with long running planning requirements, and helps align with business calendars.

Move Multiple Bookings at a Time on Schedule Board

Bulk Move / Assign – Coming April 2026 GA

Bulk move enables schedulers to shift multiple bookings forward or backward by a consistent time offset in a single action (e.g. by a day or a week, due to unfavourable weather etc.)

It also supports Bulk Reassign to another resource.

During the move or reassign, the booking duration and details are preserved throughout.

Full Screen Map view on Schedule Board

Full Screen Map View – April 2026 GA

Full Screen Map view allows dispatchers who prefer to use the spatial map view to have this fill the entire main form view.

Helps schedulers to identify where there are gaps in scheduling from a location perspective, and improves route planning.

Conclusion

I really enjoyed reading about the updates to Field Service in the upcoming release, which will surely please my clients.

This update for Field Service mobile brings important improvements aimed at making life better for frontline workers and dispatch teams.
