It’s that time of the year again, release wave 2 2024 is out! There are several things that originally was in the wave 1 release, but been pushed to this release. A lot of cool things are coming, one of the biggest things is the new campaign feature with Copilot!
A lot of customer have custom tables and columns in their Dataverse, up until now Copilot in CI-J has only worked with out of the box tables and columns. From October we can edit what Copilot looks at and also use our own tables and columns. This will make Copilot more relevant for your company, may I say maybe even more useful.
This is probably one of the coolest things to come out in a long time (and there’s been a lot of cool things, so that says a lot! This is not in public preview as of now, but in guarded public preview, so only selected customers/partners. I’ve done a presentation of this feature with the wonderful boss of Copilot – Dona Sarkar, and you can watch it here: Watch the Youtube on projects/campaigns
From the images in the release notes, this feature looks like the one from the project/campaign Copilot. I’m very curious to see how this feature will work, but I have a good feeling about it!
This was one of the features I was looking the most forward to in release wave 1, but it got pushed, just hoping it will be going pp in October
What I wrote for the previous release:
For someone who’s worked extensively with deliverability, domains and all that jazz for the past year, this is a super important feature that I can’t wait to start using!
Vanity domains<3
You know how all the links in your email, your forms and your preference center look awful and your customers might not want to click them because it doesn’t look like it comes from you? With this feature, that’s all in the past. You can now create your own vanity domains which will show in your URLs, digital assets, forms, event registration pages and your preference center.
This feature will be part of configuring your domain and can make your links look even more trustworthy.
Another feature from wave 1, we can add custom attributes in forms. From my last release post:
This is a highly awaited feature! Finally, we can use our RTM forms again without having to have all the columns in Dataverse already. Now you can use it for event registrations and ask about allergies, and not have that stored on the customer or leads record. You create custom form fields the same way as you could in outbound.
The event portal is coming back, now to Power Pages. The event portal template used to be a feature in the old Portals, but with the new and improved Power Pages, it hasn’t been an option until now. What’s new is that it can now also be integrated with your own CMS, I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of new opportunities this opens and how it will work.
Form prefill is finally coming back. This had been a sorely missed feature in real time marketing forms, that was in Outbound forms. This is where the form can remember your information and have it filled out when you open the form. This will make it a lot easier for anyone to use forms to update information og to make it easier for customers to register for events.
Heatmaps is back and better than ever! Where are your customers clicking, which links or which link on what side of the email is most popular, this heatmap is an easy way of getting this overview in a visual way.
Moving stuff from dev to test to production can be a pain! Everyone doing this should be familiar with ALM (If not, Benedikt Bergman is a good resource). This feature will give you the ability to test your journeys in test/dev/pre-production environments and move them to production – in a published state! Your assets can now also follow your solution.
From October we’re getting the option to not only push people down a specific path by selecting a trigger, but now we can also wait and see if the contact is in a segment.
The webtracking is back again! We can now generate a script that we can add to the website, and from this we can trigger journeys and tailor our communication with the information from our website.
Looks like we’re getting an improved lead scoring again, by the looks of it, it works almost like the existing one, just with some improvements.

As you can see there are a lot of good features coming until March 2025, some might be pushed and others might be added, so make sure you keep up to date with the release planner!
