In this release, Business Central becomes an autonomous business partner that proactively handles your paperwork.

New AI agents will now automatically process customer orders and vendor invoices directly from your email, even handling complex details like multiple shipping addresses. Combined with native expense trackingcarbon footprint reporting, and a modernised search experience, these updates ensure you spend less time on administration and more time on high-value business tasks.

Improvements to Business Central coming in Spring / Summer 2026

Automatically process customer quotes and orders from your email

This change will improve your sales cycle by allowing a Sales Order Agent to handle incoming customer requests autonomously. The agent reads incoming emails from your registered customers, extracts the relevant details, and creates the necessary quotes or orders instantly without you needing to perform any manual data entry. You are notified when a response is ready, allowing you to review and approve the draft before it is sent, keeping you in full control while saving significant time.

Intelligent shipping address matching for customer orders

This improvement helps you ensure accuracy when a customer requires items to be sent to different locations. The AI agent can now recognize specific shipping address requests within an email, search for a matching registered address in your system, and automatically record the correct destination on the generated document. This prevents shipping delays and improves the customer experience by handling logistical nuances without manual intervention.

Automated vendor invoice processing with your assistant

This update will improve your financial operations by having a Payables Agent automate the time-consuming tasks of processing vendor invoices. The agent extracts invoice details directly from email attachments, classifies expenses using AI-driven logic, and creates purchase invoice documents in Business Central for your review. It even identifies which invoices it has already handled by automatically marking processed emails with a specific category in Outlook, preventing you from wasting time on duplicate work.

Review AI suggestions directly where you work

This improvement helps you maintain control and accuracy by showing agent-generated content, such as item descriptions or field-specific updates, directly on the page where you are working. You no longer need to navigate to a separate task pane to see what an AI agent has created, allowing you to evaluate and modify suggestions with minimal disruption to your flow.

Easily identify who created or changed a record

This change will improve your collaboration by adding visual avatars to record lists, indicating exactly which colleague (or AI agent) created or last modified an entry. You can hover over an avatar to instantly see the full display name and the time the update was made, saving you time when you need to follow up on a specific document.

Manage all your AI tasks in one place

A new dedicated task pane provides a single, consolidated overview of all tasks generated by AI agents across finance, purchasing, sales, and operations. This update will improve your efficiency by collecting all AI-initiated suggestions and follow-ups in one location, ensuring you never miss an important validation request.

Flexible matching for purchase invoices

You can now match a single purchase invoice line to multiple purchase order lines or posted receipts. This change will improve your accuracy when handling partial deliveries or complex orders, and it even allows you to automatically create missing receipts as you post the invoice.

Correct drop shipment mistakes easily

You now have the ability to “undo” a posted sales shipment that originated from a drop shipment, provided it hasn’t been invoiced yet. This update will help you fix errors quickly by automatically reversing the linked purchase receipt and creating the necessary correction entries for you.

Email shipping documents and return receipts

This improvement streamlines your communication by allowing you to send posted sales shipments and return receipts directly to customers via email. You can attach these documents as PDFs for your own records or send them to contacts other than those listed on the invoice, reducing your reliance on manual printing.

See what your products look like at every level

You can now store and view pictures for specific item variants, such as different colors or sizes of the same product. This change will improve your accuracy during sales and fulfillment by allowing you to visually distinguish between similar items in tiles or list modes.

Manage employee expenses natively

A new built-in Expense Management module allows you to capture, approve, and reimburse employee costs like mileage and per diems directly within the system. This update will improve your daily work by removing the need for external tools, giving you a seamless and accurate way to track company spending in one place.
General Availability: October 2026

Show your carbon footprint on sales documents

New report layouts allow you to include estimated CO2 emissions per unit and total emissions on your invoices and quotes. This change will improve your transparency with customers and help you support sustainability commitments by sharing environmental data on the documents they receive.

Send documents in the right language every time

You can now define a company-wide default language for all customer-facing documents, such as invoices.
