Account schedules represents the financial reporting tool in Dynamics 365 Business Central, with which you can create all the business critical financial reports like balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement … etc.
Row and Column Layout
In order to create a new financial report, all you need to do is to create both; a row and column layout.
A row definition will set the layout for the lines to be presented such as GL Account, GL Account categories, calculated values or percentages of either actual or budget values.
A column layout is basically related to the different parameters that will be used to present the row layout, such as multiple periods, quarters or years representing net change, year to date or balances values for either actual or budget values.
