Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 Wave 1 release (version 26) will be here in just 3 months (public preview expected in March) and you should start preparing for the related changes.
Despite the new features that every major release will add to the standard product, Dynamics 365 Business Central version 26 is what I called also in the past a “milestone release” because starting from this version all the tables and fields that was marked as Obsolete::Removed state by Microsoft for more than one major release will be permanently deleted (yes, removed from the backend). And this will happen every 5 mayor releases starting from v26 (so next big physical deprecated object removal will happen on version 30).
In Dynamics 365 Business Central version 26, about 150 deprecated tables and more than 1000 fields have been removed and you should be aware of that!
The complete list of removed tables and fields can be found here.
As you can see, the list is quite huge and you should check your extensions as quickly as possible in order to avoid last minute breaking changes.
Remember also that direct cloud migration and data upgrade from version Business Central 2019 (version 14.x) is no longer supported now. In order to upgrade your Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premises database to version 26 or higher, you need to follow one of these paths:
Starting from version 26, it’s also no longer possible to expose a standard Microsoft page as a SOAP endpoint. If you need to have SOAP integrations to these pages, you need to copy the source code for the page and host the new page in a per-tenant extension, but this is absolutely a worst practice (so please don’t do that). SOAP protocol is deprecated and it will be soon fully removed.
Please check the above link and act accordingly with your apps.
