2025 – Where did it go?

First of all: Blogging was so not my thing in 2025 😅 Hello to the first and last post of 2025!

Just like last year, I will look back to what I promised in my last post and here it is how that went:

• Being active in Microsoft community and events ✅
• Develop myself – This is a hard one, but I do think so 😁
• Continue with 502nm ✅
• Visit a few countries ✅
• Spend time with family ✅

I think all in all pretty well, but here is a bit more detail of year 2025 through my own eyes:

Community

The year went past so fast. I remember hosting the 3rd edition of Cloud Technology Townhall Tallinn in January and suddenly it was done after Ignite in November. I did do less events this year, which was also a nice change, but also showed heavily how much I miss travelling when staying home for a month 😅

2025 also showed me that there are friends and people that show up even if you have a hard time saying you need them 😉 This means more than words can say!

Here is my community numbers for 2025:

• Speaking sessions: 12
• Conferences attended: 12 (3 less than 2024)
• Blogposts written: 0 (8 less than 2024, better fix that in 2026)
• User group meetups hosted: 14
• Events organized: 2 (1 less than the year before, this can stay that way 😅)
• A lot of hours spent learning and chatting with different community members.

Work life

Working hard as a Dynamics 365 consultant no matter how much people declare the product dead 🤣 I love that I can be of help both regarding that but also the surrounding Power Platform, security and also AI topics. That has been the biggest win for 2025. It also seems like 2025 will close successfully for 502nm.

I have done projects in UK, Denmark, USA, Netherlands, Estonia, Finland. Quite the tour!

Besides that, I also took and finished a course in becoming a professional board member. That was something totally out of my comfort zone and expertise, but something that is a great addition to my future career.

Personal and everything in between

I built amazing Lego sets: Mario cart was a real highlight, still have too many in boxes 😁. Had a driving vacation to the Netherlands with family. Useful tip: Easter in the Netherlands is CROWDED. Just heads up when trying to visit the touristy places 😅
Simon started in school 🥳
I visited some amazing restaurants in different countries, really something I hope to continue in 2026!

I will take as it comes! There are already some events lined up, Cloud Tech Tallinn 2026 will be bigger than ever and I have promised myself to try very hard to do a vacation trip for myself. Let's see!
