Have you ever wondered what you can use a Canvas app for?
What are people using Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Data for?
Who needs Dynamics 365 Field Service?
Is Dataverse only for the biggest customers?
What are some use cases for Power Automate?
What even is Copilot Studio?
Is AI builder still a thing?
Do I need to sell a whole lot to justify Dynamics 365 Sales
These are some of the questions I get from students, customers and consultants. There is a lot of great much content out there. But a lot of it is useful when you know the basics, not so much to learn and understand what each tech is and what it’s used for.
Because of this I wanted create a blog series with an introduction to the Power Platform and the CRM side of Dynamics 365. An introduction to the technology, answering what you can use it for and what some customers have used it for.
A guide for those just getting started or customers wondering what they can use the technology for, what can it help them with. What Microsoft would call level 50 content.
The structure of the posts will be the same in all of them.
How does Copilot answer the prompt: “Answer this in three sentences “What is <this tech> and what is it used for?””. I’m using “Think deeper” in Copilot.
Continuing on the last question I’m using the prompt: “Now explain it to me like I’m 10 years”.
I’ve asked 34 different people who I view as specialists in the different topics the same question as I did Copilot: “Answer this in three sentences “What is <this tech> and what is it used for?””. The twist here is that I asked them to not use AI to write the text!
Thank you so much to everyone who’s answered!
In this section I’ll try to explain the tech in a simple way. I will use normal words that you don’t have to be in tech to understand. I will also use no abbreviations or only explained abbreviations.
In this section I’ll give you some examples of what some larger (mostly unnamed) customers are using the technology for. This should give people in larger organizations a hint of “is this technology suited for my company”.
Here I’ll give you some examples of what some smaller (mostly unnamed) customers are using the technology for. Often you’ll see that all the Microsoft show customers are larger companies. It’s hard to know if this technology can be helpful for your small organization. This should give people in smaller organizations a hint of “is this technology suited for my company”.
Now you know what the technology is, but where can you learn even more about it? I’ll give you links to where you can get more information.
I’ll summarize the post and give you the tl:dr version.
These are the blogs I’ll be posting. I’ll update this post when they are published.
